2025-26 Men's Basketball Season Recap

Catonsville MD, March 6, 2026 – Recapping the Cardinals men's basketball season

The CCBC Catonsville Cardinals men's basketball team finished their 2025-26 campaign with an overall record of 12-16 and a conference record of 5-9. Head coach T.J. Prioleau, in his 3rd season at the helm, suffered his 1st losing season following back-to-back 15-win seasons. A disappointing season for most, but plenty of promise lies in the returning players from this past season. Statistical leaders include the following:

Ending the season on a 3-game winning streak, the Cardinals boasted an impressive 10-3 home record, but their struggles came on the road where they went 1-11 and 1-2 in neutral-site games. In 28 games, the team averaged 71.3 PPG, a 4.9-point difference from the 2024-25 season; other stats that slightly declined compared to last season include 3-point % (31.8 -> 27.4), free throw % (69.9 -> 65.0), rebounds per game (35.2 -> 34.6), and assists (14.5 -> 12.7). On the other hand, the team field goal percentage (43.5) was higher than 2024-25 (42.7).

The Cardinals will have some major roles to fill in next season as sophomores Jaden French, Kamren Hayes, Messiah AndersonAmarian Joseph, and Alpha Thiam will likely move on from the program after serving valued time with the team. These key departures leave holes at the guard position, while the forward and center position look at be retained by major contributors this season (Yassir Supreme, David McKay-Samuels).

Moving forward, the team hopes to bounce back in 2026-27 and compete at the top of Region 20 once again.
