Lady Cardinals suffer tough 11-0 loss against Riverhawks

Arnold, MD – In a tough matchup, the CCBC Cardinals fell to the AACC Riverhawks with a final score of 11-0.

Early in the game the Lady Cardinals struggled to find their footing with the Riverhawks scoring the first goal at the 53 second mark shot by Holly Wall, assisted by Alyssa Simms. This early lead would continue with the Riverhawks scoring 5 more goals in the first half. The scorers were Emma Miga, scoring 2 goals unassisted. Alaina Minefski, assisted by Eleyna Entsminger, who would then return to score her own goal assisted by Eden Abey. And finally, Alyssa Simms, scoring the 6^th goal of the first half assisted by Emma Miga.

In the second half, the Cardinals aimed to maintain a balance between defense and offense to prevent the Riverhawks from pulling away with the game. With goalkeeper Kayla Cox making 9 saves throughout the game, ultimately the Riverhawks would extend their lead scoring an additional 5 goals in the second half winning the game 11-0.

 Scorers were Kat Budowski, assisted by McKenzie Gilbert, who would come back to score her own goal assisted by Chloe Underwood. Emma Miga, then scored her 3^rd goal of the evening assisted by Riley Sheets, who would return to score her own goal assisted by Maddie Raynes. Despite the 11^th and final goal shot by Maddie Wright, assisted by Maddie Raynes, sealing the tough loss, the Lady Cardinals showed heart and hustle until the very last whistle.

The CCBC Cardinals will take on our friends, the CCBC Knights, right here on our home turf in Catonsville. With the determination and resilience of the Lady Cardinals let's hope they pick up the win. Game is det for 3:00pm on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
