2025-26 Women's Basketball Season Recap

2025-26 Women's Basketball Season Recap

Catonsville MD, March 6, 2026 – Recapping the Cardinals women's basketball season

The CCBC Catonsville Cardinals women's basketball team finished their 2025-26 campaign with an overall record of 13-14 and a conference record of 8-6. Head coach Senteria Renwicks just completed her first full season at the helm after serving as the interim head coach in the 2024-25 season. An up and down season led to a second consecutive playoff appearance in as many years where the Lady Cardinals suffered a quick quarterfinal exit to WVU Potomac State, whom they had lost a 4-point contest to in late January.

Statistical leaders are as follows:

The Lady Cardinals look to return their young roster next season as 10 of 12 initial roster spots include freshmen. Key departures include Keashiana Murphy and Emily Bartlett, whose sophomore season was cut short due to injury. As a team, there were many impressive jumps in overall stat categories from the 2024-25 season to this year such as points per game (53.1 -> 66.0), field goal % (33.3 -> 35.9), 3-point percentage (22.8 -> 23.3), rebounds per game (38.1 ->40.9), and assists per game (7.8 -> 13.6).

At home, the team held a 9-5 record and struggled in away (3-7) and neutral site games (1-2) in 27 games played. The regular season ended with an impressive 105-30 win over a shorthanded Westmoreland squad, one of two games scoring over 100 points. In their lone playoff game, the Lady Cardinals kept things close until halftime but were outscored 48-23 in the second half by the Catamounts.

While the season did not end the way anyone would have hoped, there is a lot to look forward to next season as the team aims to remain consistent in their success in a competitive Region 20.
