Lady Cardinals' Win Streak Snapped in Fun Matchup
Catonsville MD, Feb 20 2026- CCBC Women's Basketball had their 3 game win streak snapped in a 71-69 matchup against the Community College of Beaver County Titans that came down to the wire.
These teams were neck and neck throughout the contest which shows in the box score with the rebound and turnover margins within 4 and both teams holding each other to 34 and 32 percent from the field. Beaver started the contest on a 12-2 run which CCBC answered strongly, keeping the Titans at 12 points for the rest of the quarter and cut the lead to one. CCBC went into the halftime locker room leading by eight points on the back of a strong second quarter. The Lady Cardinals would hold onto the lead until the 3:37 mark in the fourth quarter, and Beaver County would hold onto the lead for their two point road win.
CCBC's Keashiana Murphy led the contest in scoring with 28 points and 6 threes, to go along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals, while Sydney Oliver looked at a near triple double with 10 points 9 rebounds and 8 blocks. Beaver County were led by Josie Russell with 24 points and Brooklynn Medina with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Jada Ward also looked at a near triple double with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists.
CCBC will look to bounce back with two regular season games remaining, with their next at home against Howard Community College at 5PM Wednesday February 25th.
