Strong Third Quarter Push Lifts Cardinals to 75–67 Win Over Hagerstown
Catonsville, MD – The CCBC Catonsville women's basketball team used a dominant third-quarter performance and balanced scoring effort to secure a 75–67 victory over Hagerstown Community College on Thursday evening.
The Cardinals set the tone early, taking an 18–16 lead after the first quarter and extending their advantage to 33–29 at halftime. CCBC came out of the break with energy and focus, outscoring Hagerstown 21–14 in the third quarter to create separation heading into the final period.
Anaiya Morrison led all scorers with an outstanding 30-point performance, shooting 11-for-20 from the field and attacking the basket consistently throughout the night. Keashiana Murphy turned in a dominant all-around effort, finishing with 20 points, 14 rebounds, four steals, and three blocks to anchor the Cardinals on both ends of the floor.
Tarshay Bell added 11 points and eight rebounds, while Khloe Wallace and Ijae Dower contributed key minutes and defensive pressure as CCBC held off a late fourth-quarter push by the Hawks.
The Cardinals shared the ball effectively, recording 16 assists, and capitalized at the free-throw line with 17 made free throws. Defensively, CCBC forced 15 turnovers and came up with timely stops to protect the lead down the stretch.
With the win, CCBC Catonsville improves to 7–6 overall and 3–1 in conference play, continuing to build momentum as the season progresses.
