Catonsville MD, March 26, 2026 – Pitching Dominates in DH Sweep
The softball pitching staff continues to dominate the competition as they complete their 3rd shutout of the season so far. In game 1, Emily Fagan allowed 6 hits, which amounted to 0 runs with the help of timely team defense and 8 strikeouts by the ace. Alana Watts (3 RBI) continued her hot streak with another 2-run homer in the first inning to spark the offense early. Maggie Roland and Aliceanna Weibley both collected 2 hits apiece and 9 of 12 total batters reached base at least once; 11 runs on 12 hits were the difference as the Mighty Oaks could not overcome the early deficit.
Jules LeProhon pitched a solid game 2 with 2 earned runs on 4 hits in 6 innings pitched, earning her 3rd win of the season. The offense was once again led by Alana Watts, who reached base 3 times, including a 6th inning double. Aliceanna Weibley bolstered the offense with a 2-run homer in the 5th, her first of the year, which gave the team a 4-1 lead at that point in the game. Other key contributors included Ava Blum and Renee Askin with 2 RBIs each, crucial to the 6-3 victory on Thursday evening.
The Lady Cardinals get some much-needed rest as they aim to continue their dominance against the College of Southern Maryland in an important conference DH on Wednesday, April 1st.
