Cardinals Battle Through Southern Road Swing

Hickory, NC- The Cardinals softball team started their season with a road trip down south starting in North Carolina and making their way to Virginia. They went 3-9 during their trip with huge contributions from Emily Fagan who pitched 7 of the 9 games (2 wins and 3 losses) and has a batting average (BA) of .680 and helping the team by batting in 10 runs. Someone to keep an eye on is freshman Angela Delaney; she played in 8 out of the 9 games and had a BA of .364 with 3 RBI, 8 runs scored and 2 stolen bases. Jordyn Cleveland stood out playing 7 out of the 9 games batting .389 at the dish with 3 runs scored and 1 stolen base.

Throughout the trip, the Cardinals faced tough competition and battled through several close contests that tested both their depth and resilience. Offensively, the team continued to find its rhythm, giving the Cardinals valuable experience that will pay off as conference play approaches.

Despite a few injury setbacks, the Cardinals continue to persevere in their march towards regionals in May.

The upcoming competition between CCBC Catonsville and Frederick Community College should be an exciting matchup. FCC was a Final Four contender last year and Catonsville was runner up; looking to continue off their success from last year.
