Cardinal's Softball 2017 Schedule Release

CCBC Catonsville softball head coach Chuck Slater announced the release of the Cardinals 2017 Softball schedule.

The Cardinals start March off with a pair of double headers at home in Catonsville. March 4th is the season and home opener where the girls are playing against Allegany College and they will want to start the season off strong. The Cards' next game is the day after on the 5th and sees them face off against Garret College. March 10th - 12th the ladies are traveling down to Columbus, Georgia to take part in the NFCA Leadoff Classic where they will play against some of the top NCJAA Division 1 and 2 teams from all over the country. They have 5 games spread between the 3 days. They start the tournament off with a game against Jones County JC at 11:30 AM on the 10th and soon after that play Kirkwood CC at 4:30 PM. On the 11th the Card's play Division I outfit Shelton State and then Illinois Central at 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM respectively. On the final day, the girls have a game against the nationally ranked Des Moines Area CC. 


All of the Cardinals games this season are double headers. The DH streak starts with a game at home with the College of Southern Maryland on the 15th of March. After that, Mercyhurst North East make the trip down to Catonsville the day after on March 16th. The girls first road game of the season sees them travel to Cecil College to play the Seahawks at 12:00 PM. Montgomery College are the team's next opponents and they play them at here in Catonsville on the 20th. The Northern Virginia Nighthawks open their doors to our girls on the 22nd of March as the players make the trip to Annandale, VA. There's a streak of 3 home games after that starting on the 25th with Cuyahoga Western turning up first. Second up is Niagara County Community College as the Thunderwolves come to pay us a visit on the 26th. The third and final home game of March is on the 29th and it's against Camden County College at 3:00 PM. Rounding out March in style the Cardinals have two away games against Hagerstown and Harford on the 29th and 31st.


April begins with two home games. On the 1st is the County College of Morris, the Cardinals play the Region XIX Division II Champions at 1:00 PM. On the 5th of April we welcome Anne Arundel College to our field and the games start at 3:00 PM. The ladies take a trip to Fredrick to play against the Cougars on the 8th of the month but bring a team back to Catonsville the next day as they play the Rowan College Burlington County Barons at home on the 9th. Three more home games follow immediately after. Chesapeake College come to play on the 12th, Beaver County arrive on the 15th and then the Delaware Tech Lady Roadrunners stop by on the 18th. April 19th is a date to remember as we will be send the girls over to CCBC Dundalk. The game starts at 3:00 PM so please come support the team in their game against our sister school.  Defending Region XX DII Champs, Potomac State arrive in Catonsville on the 21st to play the Cardinals and then the ladies are away in their next game against Mercer County. The trip to Trenton, NJ is their longest single day trip of the season so we really hope they can get that W against Mercer. We finish the season off with a game against Towson University club team. Come out of the field for the final home game of the season and sophomore day.

On the 29th and 30th of April there is the Region XX Play-In Game and that game is played in the home stadium of the highest seeded team involved. May 5th – 7th is the Region XX Tournament being held in Frederick, Maryland. The NCJAA World Series will take place May 17th – May 20th at Traceway Park in Clinton, Mississippi.
