Men's Soccer Signs Five

Men's Soccer Signs Five

On Wednesday January 7th, Cardinals Men's Soccer Coach, Patrick Corbett  received five signed letters of intent for the upcoming Fall 2015 soccer season.  This wave of recruits are the first group to sign under Coach Corbett and promises to be one of the more promising recruiting classes in recent years.  Joining the Cardinals will be the following:

Tariq Pitt-Bey

Tariq joins the Cardinals as a right-sided player, who can play as a right back or right midfield. He currently plays for the ASA Milan Blackhawks 97', and previously played for Bethesda Blue 97'. During his club career he won the Maryland State Cup in 2013 and won the USL Super Y Nationals in 2014. He also played two years with the Maryland ODP team and travelled to Sweden to compete in the biggest youth tournament in the world, the Gothia Cup. Tariq played four years of Varsity soccer (three years for Atholton High School & Senior year for Meade), being selected to All-County twice.

Matt Nevin

Matt joins the Cardinals as a transfer from AACC where he led the team to most shutouts in school history and was selected to the All-Region XX Tournament Team. Matt grew up playing for Coach Corbett as a member of Thunder Soccer Club, playing primarily defender or midfielder.  Matt currently plays for the Thunder Galacticos, where he participated in the  USL Super Y Nationals at the IMG Academy. Matt played four years of Varsity soccer at Glen Burnie High School, where he was Captain of the team and selected to All-County.

Logan Engel

Logan joins the Cardinals as a center back or holding midfielder.  He grew up playing for Coach Corbett with the Thunder Rockets since U11, and currently plays for ASA Ajax. Logan played for North County High School as the team Captain earning All- County twice and winning an Anne Arundel County Championship.

Cole Lally

Coach Corbett is excited about reuniting a relationship that goes back for years, since Cole was Corbett's Captain for Thunder Soccer Club U11-U15. Cole will be a feature player for the Cardinals anywhere across the back four or as a holding mid-fielder. He currently is the Captain for the Division 1 Thunder Galacticos who also featured at the USL Super Y Nationals at IMG Academy the Summer of 2013. Cole is graduating from Mt. St. Joe where he also played for their Varsity team.

Elijah Roberts

Elijah joins the Cardinals after two years on the Arundel High School Varsity team as a center defender, although he can also be used as a midfielder or striker. Before attending Arundel High School, Elijah lived in Stuttgart, Germany where he developed a European culture to his game. He has phenomenal athleticism and work rate which help him be such a dominate defender.

The CCBC-Catonsville Cardinals welcome the newest additions to the program and can't wait for offseason training.
