Catonsville, MD – The CCBC Catonsville Cardinals Men’s Basketball Program has released its schedule for the 2015-16 season. Coach Greate White replaces Coach Randy Gregory, at the helm of a squad that went 17-12 overall and 9-5 in the Maryland JUCO Conference.
Preseason games begin with a Home contest against MD Bible College, 7pm on Thursday October 22. The Cardinals then will have a couple days before hosting the JUCO Jamboree on Saturday October 24. The Jamboree features eighteen schools from all over the Mid-Atlantic Region, with each team participating in 3 games, in the ultimate preseason test. The Cardinals will finish up their preseason schedule with a trip up to Lincoln University (PA) on Thursday November 2.
Catonsville begins the regular season November 6th and 7th, taking part of CCBC Dundalk’s Lion Mixer with the Friday (6th) game against last year’s #13 team in the nation, Bryant and Stratton College at 6pm. On Saturday (7th) the Cardinals return to the court at 1pm to play the NJCAA National Tournament 8th Place Finishers from Lansing Community College. CCBC Catonsville then hits I-95 to travel to Newark, Delaware for a game against Delaware Tech-Stanton, on Tuesday November 10 at 7pm.
The Cardinals open the home portion of their schedule with a Saturday afternoon contest on the 14th against the JV of the Naval Academy. The tip is scheduled for 12pm. On November 18th Catonsville hits the road for a 7pm showdown with Prince George’s in Largo, Maryland. PG is one of the toughest places for opposing teams to play in the Maryland JUCO and will test Coach White’s squad. On Tuesday November 24th, the road tested Cardinals will play host to visiting Montgomery College at 7pm. After a brief home stay, Catonsville finishes the month of November on the 27th and 28th by hitting the road to participate in the Beaver Classic in Monaca, Pennsylvania. Opponents and times TBA.
The month of December begins with a pair of home contests on the 2nd, versus Anne Arundel Community College, and on the 5th, versus College of Southern Maryland. Both games start at 7pm. CCBC Catonsville then begins a four game road trip starting on Tuesday December 8th when the Cardinals play Northern Virginia Community College at 8pm. On December 12th, Mercer County will host CCBC Catonsville, then on Wednesday December 16th, a matchup with the Nation’s #7 ranked Richard Bland College awaits. The tip is scheduled for 6pm in Petersburg, Virginia. The Cardinals finish the month of December on the 19th with a matchup with always powerful Baltimore City at 3pm.
Catonsville returns from the holiday break with a January 6th home contest with the Hagerstown Hawks. Two days later the Cards travel to Bel Air to face Maryland JUCO Tournament surprise, Harford Owls in a early 11am contest. Tuesday, January 12th the Fighting Cardinals return home to play Allegany at 7pm. January 16th sees the MD JUCO Regular season champs of Garrett play host to Catonsville with a 4pm start. Four days later Catonsville faces the #2 MD JUCO team, when they take a trip up I-70 to Frederick Community College. January 22nd, Catonsville returns home to play Cecil at 7pm, before hitting the road again on the 27th to play Region XX Champs and sister campus CCBC Dundalk in a rivalry game at 5pm. The Cardinals finish up the month of January with another road contest, just down the street, in Columbia, Maryland when they face Howard Community College on January 30th at 5pm.
CCBC Catonsville begins the stretch run in February with two home dates beginning with a matchup with Chesapeake College on Tuesday February 2nd, and with Potomac State on Friday the 5th. Both contests are at 7pm. On February 9th the Cardinals take a trip to Pemberton, New Jersey to take on Region XIX powerhouse Rowan University of Burlington.
Postseason play begins on Thursday February 11th-14th for the Maryland JUCO Tournament, at McHenry, Maryland. The Cards will play a home tune-up game versus Delaware County on February 16th, before the Region XX Conference Tournament begins on February 27-28th.
