Blue begins his 11th season as head coach after spending six years as the assistant head coach/recruiting coordinator. He has an impressive career record of 292-197-3 (.593). He is credited with recruiting the talent that has thrust the CCBC Catonsville baseball program into the national spotlight. Under his leadership, the Cardinals have an appearance in the 2003 NJCAA World Series, 11 trips to the NJCAA Region XX semifinals since 1998 and back-to-back Maryland JUCO Conference and NJCAA Region XX titles in 2003 and 2004.

In his first season as head coach in 2004, he led the Cardinals to their second consecutive Maryland JUCO and NJCAA Region XX titles and 34 victories, which included a 19 game winning streak. He also garnered the 2004 Maryland JUCO Conference and NJCAA Region XX Coach of the Year Awards. In 2005, he led the Cardinals to a second place finish in the conference and another appearance in the NJCAA regional semifinals.

His 2006 squad twice defeated the top ranked team in the nation. In 2007, he led the Cardinals to their third conference title in five seasons and was again named the Maryland JUCO Conference Coach of the Year. Blue's 2008 team was the NJCAA Region XX runner-up and third in the NJCAA Eastern District. The 2010 Cardinals won a school record 37 games, including 17 in a row, as well as two victories over the No. 2 ranked team in all of NJCAA Division II.

His 2011 team secured its third 30-win season in the five years. The 2012 squad captured the NJCAA Region XX title and advanced to within one game of the World Series. Blue was once again voted Coach of the Year honors for the conference. In 2013 his team captured its 12th Maryland JUCO Conference Championship, recorded their fourth straight 30-win season and was ranked in the NJCAA top 20 for much of the season.

Blue is a former first baseman/outfielder that played for the University of Toledo (1981-84) and the University of Central Florida (1985).
