2018 Baseball Schedule Release

Catonsville, MD- CCBC Catonsville Cardinals head baseball coach, Dan Blue is proud to announce the 2018 baseball schedule as they look to defend their Region XX Division II championship.

The first stretch of the season for the Cardinals will take place in Florida, where they will play 7 games against 4 teams in 6 days. The Cardinals start their season with a double header in Sanford, FL against Seminole State College of Florida on February 17th. The Cardinals will hit the road to play a pair of single games against Lake-Sumter (19th) and College of Central Florida (20th). The Cardinals will close out the Florida part of their schedule in Daytona Beach, FL against Daytona State College before returning home. The Cardinals and the Falcons will face off in a double header (22nd) and a single game (23rd) before the Cardinals head north back to Maryland.

The Cardinals will have their first home game on the campus of CCBC Catonsville on Friday March 2nd against Sussex County Skylanders which will start a busy month of March for the Cardinals in which they will play 24 games. After playing in their home opener on Friday, the Cardinals will face off against the Skylanders again for a double header on Saturday before heading to Cecil College for a single game on the 6th. The Cardinals will be hosting their next five games right here in Catonsville, starting out with a single game against Prince George’s College (8th) followed by 3 games against Tompkins Cortland which includes a double header (10th) and a single game (11th). The Cardinals close out their home stand with a single game against UCONN Avery (14th) before hitting the road to face Anne Arundel (15th). The Cardinals will have a pair of double headers at home against SUNY Orange (17th) and College of Southern Maryland (18th), before going on the road again. The Cardinals will travel to Harford (20th) and CCBC Essex (22nd) before returning home to play Lakeland in a double header (24th). The last road trip in March for the Cardinals will be to Blackwood, NJ, where they take on Camden County for a double header (25th). The Cardinals start another home stand with a couple of single games against CCBC Dundalk (27th) and Anne Arundel (29th). The Cardinals will close out the month of March against the team that the Cardinals beat in last year’s Region XX tournament, the fierce Frederick Community College Cougars will come to Catonsville for a double header on the 31st.

The main focus for the Cardinals in April will be to get ready for the Region XX tournament as they will be playing 26 games starting out on the road with a double header in Virginia Beach, VA against Bryant and Stratton College (4th) and a single game in Largo, MD against Prince George’s County College (5th). The Cardinals will return home for a double header against Chesapeake College (7th) before going on the road to face Garett in a double header (8th). Cecil College will come to Catonsville to face the Cardinals (10th) before the Cardinals head to Germantown, MD for a double header against Montgomery College (11th). The Cardinals will take on Harford at home on the 12th before going to Hagerstown, MD to play in a double header against Hagerstown (14th). The next two games for the Cardinals will be against their CCBC counterparts when Essex comes to Catonsville (17th) and the Cardinals head to Dundalk (19th). The Cardinals will go away from home to play in a pair of double headers against Allegany (21st) and Potomac State (25th). The last regular season home stand for the Cardinals will start with four games against Community College of Rhode Island Knights with a single game on the 27th and a 10 am, 1 pm, 4 pm, triple header against the Knights on the 28th. The Cardinals will have another 10 am, 1pm, 4 pm, triple header at home against Potomac State on the 29th which will end their last home stand of the regular season. The Cardinals go on the road to close out their regular season with a single game against Delaware Tech- Georgetown (29th).

The Cardinals have the pleasure of hosting the Region XX tournament right here in Catonsville on May 11-13, with the winner getting the opportunity to go the NJCAA Northeast District Championship on May 18-19 against District XIX. The 2018 NJCAA World Series will be held in Enid, Oklahoma from May 26- June 2. Coach Blue and the Cardinals baseball players hope to see you at the games this season!
