The Cardinals have been on a winning streak as of late and are capping off an impressive season by entering their post season play in virtuous form. April has been a positive month for the Cardinals as they have won their last six games and have a winning percentage on the season in conference play. Highlights of April would definitely include the big wins against one of our sister schools, CCBC Essex, which ended 11-0, a 13-3 victory over Montgomery College and sweeping Chesapeake College in a double header in their own back yard. Finally there was the tremendous 22-9 offensive showcase Hagerstown Community College. The boys made what was usually a competitive affair into an extraordinary victory for the program. The lads are finishing the month in style with victories against the College of Southern Maryland, Prince George's Community College, the Community College of Rhode Island and Potomac State.
While the team is having a great time of it there is also some individual plaudits in order. Some players have entered their own little renaissance with 6 players posting great numbers for runs and an impressive number of game contributions in hits and RBI's. Players that got hot during the streak are Emanuel Jimenez (5 Runs 8 Hits), Matt Thomas (4 Runs 6 Hits 4 RBI's), Bud Weismore (5 Runs 4 Hits 4 RBI's), Avery Rosania (5 Runs 7 Hits 5 RBI's), Brady Adam (7 Runs 8 Hits 4 RBI's) and Carl Colbert Jr (7 Runs 9 Hits 8 RBI's).
We wish the boys the best of luck for the remainder of the season and hope to see you supporting them coming into post season play! GO CARDINALS!
