2016 Cardinals Baseball Schedule Release

Catonsville, MD- CCBC Catonsville baseball head coach, Dan Blue, announced the release of the Cardinals 2016 baseball schedule. 

The Cardinals hit the road to start their season in Florida, playing 7 games versus NJCAA Division I schools beginning with a February 13th double header matchup against Seminole State College.  They continue the trip with single games versus College of Central Florida on the 15th, Pasco-Hernando on the 16th, and a double header on February 18th against the 2014 NJCAA National Academic Award Recipients Daytona State College in Daytona Beach, FL.  The Cardinals end their journey on the 19th with a single game versus Eastern Florida State College.

Saturday, February 27th, the Cardinals have their home opening weekend versus Sussex County with a twin bill on Saturday followed by a single game on Sunday. The Cardinals will face Allegany College on the road March 5th before returning home against Mercer County (6th) and campus branch rivals CCBC Essex (10th).  On March 12th, the Cardinals will take on Lenoir College for a double header in Kinston, NC and return home for two games versus Harford (15th), and Mercyhurst (19th).  The team finishes out the month of March traveling to Hagerstown, MD on the 20th for a double header then has a long home stand beginning March 23rd against Chesapeake, followed by Frederick (26th) and Anne Arundel (29th).  Campus rivals CCBC Dundalk travel to Catonsville on the 31st at 3:30pm to conclude Catonsville's home stand.

April will be a busy month for the Cardinals as they tune up for the Region XX tournament by playing 24 games starting with a trip up the Jersey Turnpike to Mercer County on the 3rd, CCBC Essex (5th) and Harford (7th). The Cardinals return home for a double header on the 8th versus the CSM Hawks before they hit the road for a seven game stretch against Potomac State (10th), Anne Arundel (12th), Garrett (16th) and Prince George's College on the 19th.  Cardinals return home on the 21st for a double header versus Cecil College then head to Germantown, MD to face Montgomery on April 23rd.  With a final trip to Georgetown, DE on the 27th, the Cardinals finish out the month of April with a three team miniseries with Potomac State and Rhode Island beginning with game one on April 29th at 3:30pm and finishing up the remaining 3 games April 30th starting at 10:00am. 

The 2016 Region XX Division II Tournament will be held May 13-15 in Northeast, MD, with the winner advancing to the NJCAA Northeast District Championship May 20-22 versus Region XIX. The 2016 NJCAA World Series will be held in Enid, Oklahoma May 28- June 3.  Coach Blue and the Cardinals hope to see you at the games!
