Catonsville, MD- CCBC Catonsville baseball head coach, Dan Blue, announced the release of the Cardinals 2015 baseball schedule. The schedule features double header matchups with 6 teams that ended the 2014 season in the National Rankings, as well as featured matchups with Maryland JUCO and Region XX rivals Frederick and Cecil Community College.
The Cardinals hit the road to start their season in Florida, playing 7 games versus NJCAA Division I schools beginning with a February 14th double header matchup against Seminole State College. They continue the trip with single games versus Eastern Florida State on the 16th and 20th, a game at College of Central Florida on the 17th and a double header on February 19th against the 2014 NJCAA National Academic Award Recipients Daytona State College in Daytona Beach, FL.
Saturday, February 28th, the Cardinals have their home opening weekend versus Sussex County with a twin bill on Saturday followed by a single game on Sunday. The Cardinals will face Montgomery College on the road March 7th before returning home against Mercer County (8th), Cecil (10th) and Camden County College (11th). On March 12th, the Cardinals will take on Region XX DIII Champions, Prince George's Community College in Largo, MD. The team then has a long home stand beginning March 17th against Union, followed by Sullivan (18th), Anne Arundel (19th), and Garrett (22nd) before Region XX DI Champions Harford comes to town on the 24th. Campus rivals CCBC Essex travel to Catonsville on the 26th at 3:30pm and are followed on March 28th with a double header versus Lackawanna College to conclude Catonsville's home stand.
Catonsville heads up the Jersey Turnpike for a trip to West Windsor, New Jersey to play a double header against Mercer County on March 29th and then close out the month on Tuesday, March 31th with a game against campus branch rival CCBC Dundalk starting at 3:30pm in Dundalk, MD.
April will be a busy month for the Cardinals as they tune up for the Region XX tournament by playing 21 games starting with a trip to Anne Arundel Community College on April 2nd, followed by defending conference champions Frederick on the 4th and College of Southern Maryland on April 8th. The Cardinals are back home April 9th versus Prince George's and a double header versus Potomac state on the 12th. The Cardinals finish out there home stand with CCBC Dundalk campus rivals on the 23rd, Allegany on the 25th and April 26th they will take on nationally ranked Delaware Tech, before finishing their season April 28th on the road against Camden County College in New Jersey.
The 2015 Region XX Division II Tournament will be held May 8-10 at Frederick Community College in Frederick, MD with the winner advancing to the NJCAA Northeast District Championship May 15-17 versus Region XIX. The 2015 NJCAA World Series will be held in Enid, Oklahoma May 23-30. Coach Blue and the Cardinals hope to see you at the games!
