On Aug. 8, CCBC Catonsville student-athlete Desean Rabb signed a letter of intent to attend Coppin State University and play baseball for the Eagles next season.

Rabb is a right-handed pitcher whom led the Cardinals with a 2.66 ERA in 12 appearances as a reliever and spot starter last season.  In 23.2 innings, he was 1-0 giving up just seven earned runs on 18 hits with seven walks and eight strikeouts.

In 2013, Rabb posted a 0-2 record with a 4.06 ERA over 24.1 innings pitched for the Cardinals. He allowed 11 earned runs on 27 hits with 19 walks and 18 strikeouts.

"Desean was an extremely valuable pitcher who served an important role for the Cardinals the past two seasons, as he was effective as both a reliever and as a spot starter," Cardinals coach Dan Blue said. "I always had confidence that Desean would compete and put forth his best effort every time he stopped on the mound."

Blue continued saying that "Desean has worked extremely hard to improve himself throughout his time in our program. I think he will be a terrific fit and addition for coach [Sherman] Reed and the Coppin State program."
