On Saturday, April 5th, CCBC Catonsville baseball split a double header with Frederick, winning game 1 by a 4-3 count and losing the nightcap 10-4.
In game 1, Catonsville came back from a one run deficit with a 2 run first on a single by Miles Campbell, a walk and a throwing error by Frederick. They expanded the lead to 3-1 in the third on singles by Campbell and Trejon Smith and a wild pitch. Frederick tied the game with single runs in the 5th and 7th innings, helped by a Catonsville error and wild pitch respectively. In the home 7th, Cody Beacorn singled, Nic Fisher walked, Ben Sifen sacrificed the runners and a Frederick wild pitch gave Catonsville the win.
In game 2, Catonsville again came back from 1-0 down, tying the game on an infield groundout in the first by Matt Bougourd and going ahead 4-1 in the third on a walk, a hit batsman, Will Enrico's sacrifice, a costly Frederick error and an rbi groundout by Trejon Smith. Catonsville was not able to hold the lead. Frederick scored six times in the 6th on three hits and a costly Catonsville error. Three singles by Frederick provided an insurance run in the 7th and a 10-4 final.
