Cardinals Sweep Salem to Move to 10-8

The Cardinals baseball team earned a sweep of Salem on a rainy Friday afternoon winng game one 6-1, and game two 14-0.  In the first game of the DH, Catonsville rode an outstanding pitching effort by Freshman Kyle Stricker who threw the complete game, scattering just five hits and allowing one run. He also added five K's.  Offensively for the Cardinals, Sophomore Logan Sica, three hits including a double, and two runs scored, and Miles Campbell with 2 hits led the way. Trejon Smith also added a big two run single to aid the cause.

Freshman Sean Pico delivered another gem for the Cardinals in the 14-0 game two win, allowing just four hits in the 5 inning complete game. The Cardinal bats were also hot in the second game as they used 13 hits to plate 14 runs. Ben Sifen, Miles Campbell, Trejon Smith, Matt Bougourd, and Cody Beacorn all had a multiple hit game, and Smith added a home run and five RBI's to the effort.

The Cardinals (10-8, 3-2 MDJUCO) will return to the diamond on Tuesday, April 1 with a 3:30 single game vs CCBC Dundalk.
