2017 Baseball Schedule Release

CATONSVILLE, MD. -– CCBC Catonsville baseball head coach Dan Blue announced the release of the Cardinals 2017 Baseball schedule.

The Cardinals start their season by hitting the road and going down to Florida to play 5 games against NCJAA Division 1 teams. The Cards’ first game is a double header matchup against Seminole State College on the 18th of February. They continue the trip with single games versus Pasco-Hernando on the 20th and then Central Florida State College a day later on the 21st. The team play their second double header of the season on the 23rd of February down in Daytona Beach as they play the 2014 NJCAA National Academic Award recipients Daytona State College. The Cardinals tour of the Sunshine State ends on the 24th of February with a single game against Eastern Florida State College.

On Friday March 3rd, and Saturday March 4th, the Cardinals kick their home opening weekend off with a twin bill versus Sussex County College. Cecil College are the teams’ next opponents to step up to the plate as they face off in a single game on March 7th. The first of only three road games for the Cards’ in March sees them go up against Prince George’s College in Largo on 9th. The lads then return to the Joseph and Mildred Murray Complex in Catonsville for 8 straight home games. First up is Garret College who are the opponents for the double header on the 11th, that game is followed by a game against Anne Arundel on the 16th. Next is a double header with Lackawanna College on the 18th and then a single game against Harford College on the 21st. The game on the 24th has the Cardinals playing sister school CCBC Essex. On the 24th and 25th of March the Cardinals are hosting Erie College for back to back games with the second game on the 25th being a double header. The streak of home games comes to an end on the 27th of March as Niagara CCC come pay us a visit. Mark the 28th down on your calendars because this is another rivalry game. The Cardinals are traveling to CCBC Dundalk on March 30th. The team then plays the Anne Arundel Riverhawks in Arnold MD as the Cardinals round out March.

April begins with two road games with a double header at Frederick on the 2nd and a single game at Camden County on the 4th. The Cards return to Catonsville on the 6th to play Prince George’s but are quickly whisked away to play the Chesapeake Shipjacks’ in a double header on the 8th. A home double header against Montgomery College is scheduled for April 9th and then the Cards’ are on the road again. Games against Cecil Seahawks and Harford Fighting Owls lay in wait the lads on April the 11th and 13th, respectively. The Cardinals will play two double headers in a row with the first against the Hagerstown Hawks at home on the 15th and then the second on the road against Potomac Sate on the 17th in Keyser, WV. There are two big games coming up towards the end of April as we play both of our campus rivals. The Cardinals play the Knights over in Essex on the 18th and then welcome the Dundalk Lions to Catonsville on the 20th. Again come support the boys as we look to get the best of our sister schools. April is full of double headers and the Cardinals have three back to back. The Cardinals play six games in four days as they play Allegany at home on the 22nd, Delaware Tech at home on the 23rd and then away at the College of Southern Maryland on the 25th to round out a packed couple of days for the Cardinals. April ends with the Cards’ hosting a three tem mini-series involving the Community College of Rhode Island Knights and the Potomac State Catamounts. Game one will be played on the 28th and then the rest of the games will be finished up on the 29th starting at 10:00 AM.

The 2017 Region XX Division II tournament will be held May 12th- 14th in Frederick, MD. The winner will advance to the 2017 NJCAA Northeast District Championships held on May 19th – 21st. The NJCAA World Series will take place May 27th - June 2nd/3rd, at David Allen Memorial Park, Enid, OK.
